Comic Sans has faced more hate-love-relationship than Justin Bieber in respective industry. Make your university project with this font to get a chuckle-filled remark from teacher or ask your designer to use it on website and get a disgust-filled look right away. This font is considered as ugly as a child hand-writing and has also faced a movement to ban it completely.
To ease our pitiful look, let’s discuss why this font became synonym of hate. It was originally designed to be used in a show called Microsoft Bob. But, the fate had something else written for comic sans, it didn’t get complete in time to actually make it in show hence it got live and eventually shipped with Windows 95. Very sad story though (Tears in eyes)
Now, to emphasize on why, there is a research that suggests the fact that this font is really hard to read and is only a good fit to help kids with dyslexia to read the letters. Well, without being too technical here, good fonts (which comic sans isn’t) have an even weight distribution and good letter fit between each other. Comic sans has nothing at all!
Now that we have convinced you why you should hate this font, please keep in mind, not to use it in your designing portfolio and as well as on those documents that you are going to publish publically because it can make you look like an elementary kid. Yes, we can swear on that. It has a potential to ruin your career in graphic design industry.
