Google Takes on Apple at its Hardware Event

Is it safe to say that Pixel is the new iPhone? Probably yes! Because the Android giant made ruthless little digs at its arch nemesis throughout the event. Pixel and Pixel XL are two sleek smartphones that features more of Google and less of the android. They will incorporate the latest android update but there will be a pixel launcher as well that looks really good.

“3.5mm headphone jack satisfyingly not new” is what everyone read! Google took no time to point the infamous headphone jack drop! Along with this, “Say goodbye to those painful ‘storage full’ pop-ups” was another take on iPhone because in the pixel trailer they showed a “Storage full” pop up that was almost an Apple message. Being a complete badass Google even bashed iPod as well! Yes! “We’ve learned that people want more than 1,000 songs in their pockets.” is something a nod a 15-year-old iPod. They could’ve just named it the “Apple roast night” instead of Hardware Event *sigh*.

Google is trying appeal to the iPhone user because the “Easy Switch” feature in Pixel  allows you to hoover up all the data from your iPhone like messages, photos and calendar appointments.

“It just works” remember this phrase? This phrase accentuates apple’s approach to simplicity and we’ve seen Steve Jobs using it many times, Well played, Google, well played. Pixel and Pixel XL are the first phones to have the Google assistant built-in along with the android 7.0 (nougat).

Claiming that the “Pixel camera is the best smartphone camera ever made” Google’s Rick Osterloh further went to diss iPhone by saying that “There’s no unsightly camera bump” (way too many burns, Apple!).  With the colors smartly named as “very silver”, “quite black” and “really blue”, Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL have incorporate a compatibility with the Google Daydream View which is a handset that will allow Pixel and Pixel XL to turn themselves into immersive VR devices.

Google’s hardware event succeeded in breaking the internet and roasting Apple but we can only wait till we experience the new phone. Then we’ll be able to tell if they explode or not (Hello, Samsung!).
